100 Percent Virgin HDPE Aluminized Shade Net Cover with Grommets

This is the cover we supply made from 100 percent virgin HDPE, and the material grade is the first thing to note because it is not recycled resin: virgin granules give a yarn with consistent thickness, so the mesh holds an even weave and a steady shade rate instead of thinning out in patches the way recycled stock often does. The surface is aluminised, so part of the heat is reflected rather than only absorbed, and the cloth comes ready finished with a stitched hem and metal grommets, so it can be tied down over a frame, a roof or open ground without any further work. Sizes are made to order.

Product Description

The resin a shade net is made from decides how it behaves in its second and third season. This cover is made from 100 percent virgin HDPE, finished with a stitched hem and metal grommets, so it arrives ready to tie down over a greenhouse frame, a roof or open ground rather than needing edge work on site.

Why Virgin HDPE Rather Than Recycled

Virgin granules give a yarn with consistent thickness, which is what holds an even weave across the roll. Recycled stock tends to vary, and a net with thin patches shades unevenly and fails at those patches first. A steady weave also means the shade rate you order is the rate the crop gets, season after season, rather than a figure that drifts as the cloth thins. On top of that the surface is aluminised, so part of the incoming heat is reflected off the cover rather than only absorbed by it, and the mesh stays open enough for air to move underneath.

Greenhouse, Roof and Open Ground Cover

The cover goes over greenhouse roofs and side walls, tunnel frames, shade houses and open ground where the heat load matters, and because it comes grommeted it can be tied to a frame, a fence line or a roof edge with rope through the eyelets. That makes it a cover rather than a roll that has to be cut and weighted. Growers covering beds underneath often pair it with a planting bag, and the wider shade net range covers the plain green and black grades where a non reflective cover is wanted instead.

Grommets, Hem and Rigging

Because the eyelets are already set, the cover can be tied straight to a frame, a fence line or a roof edge with rope rather than being cut and weighted. The hem is stitched all round, so the edge does not fray where the rope runs through it, and the cover can be rolled, stored and put back over the same frame next season. A knitted monofilament net covers the same idea where a finer weave is wanted, while this cover carries the reflective and ready hemmed job.

Sizes, Packing and Order Detail

Size, shade rate and colour are all made to order, so the first detail to confirm is the span you are covering and whether the cover is going on a roof or on open ground. Covers ship in export packing and are folded to suit the size. Growers tracking how reflective netting performs across a season can follow trade coverage such as HortiDaily and FreshPlaza for what is being installed on commercial sites.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does virgin HDPE matter?
Virgin granules give a consistent yarn, so the weave stays even across the roll and the shade rate you order is the rate the crop gets, season after season. Recycled stock tends to vary and fails at the thin patches first.

Does it come with the eyelets already in?
Yes. The hem is stitched and the grommets are set, so the cover is tied straight to a frame or a fence line without any further work on site.

Can I order a different size, rate or colour?
Yes. Size, shade rate and colour are all made to order. Tell us the span and what you are covering and we will advise.

Tell us the span, the shade rate and the colour you are working to, and we will confirm the size and the packing that suit your order.
