This is the patio privacy screen we supply as a finished panel rather than a cut length, and on a patio that matters because the span is usually fixed: the screen is cut to the opening between two posts or along a rail, with the grommets already set, so it goes on without measuring a cut or eyeletting an edge. The cloth is knitted HDPE with UV resistance in the yarn, dense enough to break up the view from the house and open enough that air still moves across the seating.
On a patio the span is usually fixed: a gap between two posts, the length of a rail, the width of an opening under a pergola. This is the privacy screen we supply as a finished panel cut to that span, with the grommets already set, so it goes on without measuring a cut or eyeletting an edge first.

A cut length has to be trimmed, edged and eyeletted before it can be tied to anything, and that is the step where a patio screen usually goes wrong: an edge cut short leaves a gap at the post and an edge cut long has to be folded back, and either way the raw edge has to be finished before the fixings go in. Supplying it as a panel removes the step. The standard finished size is 16.4 by 5.7 feet, and other spans are cut to order from the same cloth, so a patio with more than one opening can be covered in one order.

The panel goes across a patio opening, along a balcony rail, over outdoor seating and around a deck edge, and the shade rate is made to order so a planted corner and a screened boundary can come off the same specification. Households screening a bed behind the same net often pair it with a planting bag, and the wider shade net range covers the reflective grades where a heat reflective cover is wanted instead.

The grommets sit in a bound, stitched edge rather than being punched through the weave, which is what lets the panel be tied or laced tight across a patio opening and then taken down and put back without the fixing points opening up. Because they are already fitted, the panel can be tied to posts, to a rail or to a wire line on the day it arrives, using rope or ties rather than staples. A knitted monofilament net covers the shading job where a finer weave is wanted, while this net covers the patio and balcony screening work.

Panel size, shade rate, colour and grommet spacing are all made to order, so the first detail to confirm is the span you are covering and where the posts sit. Panels ship in PP woven bags. Buyers tracking how patio screening performs can follow trade coverage such as HortiDaily and FreshPlaza for what is being installed.
Does the panel arrive with the grommets in?
Yes. The edge is bound and the grommets are fitted, so the panel is tied straight onto posts or a rail.
Can I order a span other than the standard size?
Yes. The standard finished size is 16.4 by 5.7 feet and other spans are cut to order from the same cloth.
Can I order a different shade rate or colour?
Yes. Shade rate, colour and grommet spacing are all made to order. Tell us the span and we will advise.
Tell us the span you are covering and where the posts sit, and the colour you are working to, and we will confirm the panel and the packing that suit your order.
