Four certificates on a datasheet are doing four different jobs, and buyers who know which is which can save themselves a round of questions. SGS is a third party test report, which is what a technical buyer asks for when the fabric weight or the UV claim has to be verified rather than taken on trust. ISO9001 is the quality management system, which is what an audit looks for. BV is inspection, typically at the loading stage. TUV speaks to the European market. Together they cover the paper trail that a tender, a marketplace listing or an own-brand launch usually requires. The bag itself is polypropylene non woven with air pruning and free drainage.
Most grow bag listings mention certifications without saying which one does what, and a buyer who has to clear a tender or a marketplace listing needs to know which document answers which question. Four are carried here, and they are not interchangeable.

SGS is a third party test report. That is the one to ask for when a claim has to be verified rather than accepted, which on a grow bag usually means fabric weight, tensile strength or the UV treatment. ISO9001 is the quality management system, and it is what a factory audit looks at rather than the product itself; it says the process is controlled and recorded, not that a particular roll passed a test. BV inspection is normally carried out at the loading stage, which is what a buyer wants when the goods are being shipped and somebody has to confirm what went into the container. TUV is the European mark, relevant where the goods are being placed on the EU market. A procurement file usually wants all four for different reasons.

The pots are used on greenhouse benches and floors, on hydroponic and fertigation benches where the medium is flushed regularly and drainage has to be quick, and outdoors in container beds. Because the fabric drains freely, a fertigation cycle does not leave a saturated layer at the base, which is where an over watered container crop usually goes wrong. The air that reaches the wall prunes the roots that arrive there, so the root system branches through the medium instead of winding round the pot. Growers ordering for the same houses often add a planting bag for the growing-on stages, and where the house also needs shade or humidity control, the shade net range covers that separately.

The fabric is polypropylene non woven, which is what gives it the two properties that affect yield rather than appearance. Free drainage keeps the base of the container from turning into a saturated layer after watering or fertigation, and that is the most common cause of poor growth in a container crop. Air reaching the wall prunes the root tips that arrive there, which is what turns a narrow root system into a branched one and lets the plant take up more of the medium it is sitting in. The fabric is also UV resistant and tear resistant, which is what allows the pot to be folded away and used again rather than replaced each season. Where a round rigid container is wanted instead, a grow bag with air pruning seams is also available.

Sizes run from 1 to 400 gallon, with anything outside that made to order. Colour, logo printing and handle configuration are set with the order, and a free sample is available so the fabric can be checked before a bulk run. Certificate copies are supplied with quotations where a procurement file requires them. Tell us the crop, the size, the market and the quantity, and we will confirm the specification and the documentation. Buyers tracking what is going into greenhouse and hydroponic production can follow trade coverage such as HortiDaily and FreshPlaza for what growers are installing.
Which certificate should I ask for?
SGS for a third party test of the product claims, ISO9001 for the quality system, BV for loading inspection and TUV for the European market. They answer different questions. Tell us what your file requires.
Are certificates supplied with the quotation?
Copies are provided where a procurement file requires them. Tell us which documents and which market and we will confirm what is available.
Why does drainage matter for yield?
A saturated layer at the base of a container is the usual cause of poor growth in a potted crop, because the roots there stop working. Free drainage is what prevents it, especially on a fertigation bench.
Tell us the crop, the size, the market and the quantity, and which certificates your file requires, and we will confirm the specification, the sample and the packing that suit your order.
