A nursery does not buy one size. The same stock moves from a small bag at propagation to a larger one before it goes out, and if the supplier only makes two or three sizes, that nursery ends up buying the rest elsewhere and carrying two sets of specifications. A full range from 1 to 30 gallon on one fabric means the whole programme can be ordered together, at the same weight and the same colour, and stored in graded stacks that are easy to pull from. The bags are heavy duty non woven with reinforced seams, so the same fabric takes repeated handling and washing across a season, and the wall is breathable in every size.
Growing stock moves through containers as it grows, and each move is a chance to change how the root system develops. A supplier who only covers two or three sizes forces a nursery to split the order, which means two fabrics, two colours and two sets of paperwork for what is one programme.

The useful way to think about it is by stage rather than by size. Propagation uses the small end, where the aim is a clean root system on a young plant. Growing on uses the middle, where the plant is building the structure it will be sold with. Holding stock before it goes out uses the large end, where the roots have to stay healthy for another season in the same medium. A range that covers all three from the same fabric means the medium, the watering regime and the handling all stay the same as the plant moves up, which removes a variable at exactly the point where the plant is most easily set back. It also means one specification for the buyer instead of three suppliers.

The bags are used in tree and shrub nurseries across the size range, in greenhouses where the stock is graded and moved, and in home gardens where one size is enough. Because the fabric breathes, moisture and temperature stay even through the medium rather than swinging the way they do in a sealed pot, and the UV resistance is what allows the same bag to stand outdoors across several seasons. Growers ordering for the same nursery often add a planting bag for the smallest material, and where young stock also needs shade, the shade net range covers that separately.

The two properties that carry the bag across the whole size range are the seam and the fabric. A reinforced seam is what allows the same bag to be handled, washed and reused rather than being written off after one cycle, and the load it takes grows with the bag, so the largest sizes are the ones where it matters most. The fabric being breathable does four things at once, and they are the same four in every size: air reaches the root zone, the roots can breathe rather than sitting in a sealed pocket, excess water drains away instead of pooling, and the medium is less likely to turn sour and grow bacteria. Where a round rigid container is wanted instead, a grow bag with air pruning seams is also available.

Standard sizes run from 1 to 30 gallon, with larger bags made to order up to the top of the range. Colour, logo and handle configuration are set with the order, and a free sample is available so the fabric can be checked before a bulk run. Because one fabric covers the whole range, a nursery can order a single mixed consignment rather than matching sizes from different suppliers. Tell us the stages in your programme, the sizes and the quantity, and we will confirm the specification. Buyers tracking what is going into nursery and greenhouse production can follow trade coverage such as HortiDaily and FreshPlaza for what growers are installing.
Can I order a mix of sizes in one consignment?
Yes. One fabric covers the whole range, so a mixed order comes off the same specification rather than being matched from different suppliers. Tell us the stage sizes and the proportions.
Which sizes are used at which stage?
Small sizes for propagation, middle sizes for growing on, larger sizes for holding stock before it goes out. Tell us the programme and we will suggest the spread.
Why does the seam matter more on the large sizes?
Because the seam carries the load of wet medium, and that load grows with the bag. A reinforced seam is what allows the same bag to be handled and reused rather than replaced each cycle.
Tell us the stages in your programme, the sizes you need and the quantity, and we will confirm the specification, the sample and the packing that suit your order.
